Psychotherapy & Counselling

If you've found yourself here, there's a good chance something has been weighing on you for a while.

Sometimes people come to therapy after something significant has happened. Other times, nothing obvious has changed at all. They simply have a sense that life doesn't feel the way it used to, even if they can't quite explain why.

Most people don't arrive with all the answers. More often, they arrive with a feeling that something isn't quite right, or that they can't keep doing things the way they've always done them.

Therapy offers a space where you don't have to have everything figured out.

Together, we can gently make sense of what's happening beneath the surface. We'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, understand where they've come from, and help you build a way of relating to yourself and others that feels kinder, more connected, more compassionate, and more like your own.

Everyone's reasons for coming to therapy are different. Wherever you're starting from, we'll begin there.

Whatever has brought you here today, I'm really glad you found your way here.

I work with adults aged 18+ in person in Douglas, Cork, and online.

A Little About Me

I'm Kate, a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Cork.

I know that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step. Most people don't arrive knowing exactly what they want to say, and they certainly don't need to have everything figured out before they begin.

The way I work is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. Rather than trying to "fix" you, I believe therapy is about making sense of your experiences, understanding the patterns that have shaped you, and creating space for something different.

I believe therapy doesn't have to feel cold or clinical. While we'll have difficult conversations, there'll often be moments of humour too. Being human can be messy, and sometimes a shared smile is just as important as the silence that comes before it.

No two people are the same, so no two therapy sessions should be either. I work integratively, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet you where you are, rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model.

If you'd like to know a little more about my approach, my background, and what it's like to work together, you can read more below.

Notes from the Therapy Room

The same questions that find their way into therapy often find their way into everyday life.

These reflections explore relationships, emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and the beautifully complicated experience of being human.
