FAQs: A few things you might be wondering about

You might be wondering what to expect, how it works, or whether it’s the right step for you.

Below are some of the things people often ask. If anything isn’t covered, you’re always very welcome to get in touch.

How do I know if counselling/psychotherapy might help?

1

You don’t need to be in crisis to begin therapy.

Many people come with a general sense that something isn’t quite right, others are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or navigating something difficult in their lives.

If something has brought you here, that’s enough.

What happens in the first counselling session?

2

The first session is a chance for us to get a sense of one another. We’ll talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you might be hoping for, even if that feels unclear. There’s no pressure to share more than you feel ready for.

Do you offer online or in-person sessions?

3

I offer both online sessions and a limited number of in-person appointments in Douglas, Cork. We can decide together what feels like the best fit for you.

What are your fees?

4

Sessions are €60 and last 50 minutes.

Payment is usually made on the day, either in cash for in-person sessions, or by bank transfer or Revolut for online sessions.

If you have any questions around this, you’re very welcome to ask.
